Who We Are
Exmoor BBQ is a small family run pop up BBQ take away who are lucky enough to be based in the beautiful village of Barbrook, Lynton, primarily working across Devon and Somerset. We offer American style delicious low and slow smoked dishes inspired by the greats. From Texas to Memphis and Kansas across to the Carolinas, we offer our homage with a few local twists of our own.
We specialise in catering for public and private events, as well as local festivals.

Meet the Team
Exmoor BBQ was borne out of a shared passion for cooking between Roy and Tash.
A love of cooking and foodie experiences brought the couple together, and through this they travelled across the country and then the world looking to experience the best that they possibly could.
It was during a trip in 2013 to an event known as the BBQ Block Party in New York that they fell head over heels for good old fashioned American style BBQ. The smell of slow cooking meat in the air, giant 2000 gallon offset smokers blooming post oak or cherrywood smoke across the sky, glowing embers in grills and most of all a sense of community that couldn’t be beat. Who wouldn’t be addicted.
From there the race was on. From the greats of America to the small but powerful independents in Europe and even the upcoming BBQ scene in England they absorbed as much as they could. Untold hours researching and learning in any way they could. They were even lucky enough to study under a former Jack Daniels BBQ championship grand champion (the first woman, and the only non-American to do so).

Tash had previously worked in commercial kitchens and has a background in catering and is the brains of the operation. Her experience and confidence is the glue that holds Exmoor BBQ together.

Roy learned to cook from a young age and has always had a passion for experimenting and trying new things in the kitchen. Apart from barbecuing, one of his biggest loves is baking, particularly anything bread based. In fact, he bakes all the bread products used in our sandwiches, and other menu items.

And where would the team be without its official manager and taste tester, Darla. Our beloved Staffy who is always there to give love and support as long as she is getting a taste of the goods. For quality assurance purposes of course.
